Message Of the Manager and Founder
Quality education is a far-off dream yet to be realized in the Indian sub-continent. The soul of Indian is in its village. They constitute the Majority. Unfortunately, the majority is sidelined. To transform our Great nation into a developed one, our villages have to be zeroed in. Developmental works should change its course and flow to the heart of the Indian soul. The sure step to towards advancement is education. The training provided by Government schools is not good enough. Though they stress the need for education, they fail very miserably to bring the village-students to mainstream.
English education can bring about astonishing changes in the field. It is not at the cost of the culture and foundation of our village tradition. They should be given due deference. But, to speak for one’s own culture and people and to make the voice of the voiceless multitude heard, English Education can help immeasurably. Those Educated in English medium have better chances and brighter prospects. The students of the villages are not lackeys. They are as industrial in IQ as their urban counterparts. Unfortunately the villagers are the victims of the lack of Training and opportunities. The CMI Congregation for Priests, the first indigenous of the kind have been chipping in greatly in the field. Its arena of works is villages and has brought about miracles. Kerala is a fully literate state and the contribution of the Blessed Chavara and His Successors in the CMI Congregation though many acknowledge only surreptitiously are epics.
I am happy that I was an instrument in the hands of God to work for Hiss People in Champakulam and the neighboring villages. The face of Champakulam is different toady. It is fast growing. The glitter of hope I read on the face of my People gives me immense contentment. I remember with gratitude all those who worked hard with me for the realization of the nearly impossible dream.
With regards
Fr. Thomas Thayil CMI
